I stand at my window, as the summer air breezes on my face

The sky seems bluer, the clouds look snowy

The flashback starts, the days and months have gone so fast and slow

Days of smiles flew and the days of wait seemed endless

Saw myself in my creator’s arms

Discovered myself in my teachers’ shelter

Let myself free among my buddies

And a sudden smile as thousand memories drive in and out

Eighteen years have gone so fast

Eighteen years of laughter

Eighteen years of flavored memories

Eighteen years of mind boggling mischief!

Eighteen years of “covering asses”!!

Eighteen years of tears

Eighteen years of brutal fights

Eighteen years of non-stop giggling

Eighteen years of hilarious mimicry

Eighteen years of belonging

Eighteen years shared with countless people!

Faces come and faces go

Some sustain, make a mark, some hurt

Some make a difference and leave silently even before you could duly thank them

Before you could tell them how much they mean

Some just stay and of course you can’t imagine yourself at their absence

Some remain in your memories

Reside out there locked up, you talk to them in your dreams

Eighteen years have gone too fast…so much to learn

So much to know

So much to tell

So many more people to meet

So many things to share

Here comes the adulthood

As I step in

Take a deep breath

Ready myself to carry a heavy luggage of responsibilities

Ready to act like a big girl

Take words seriously

No monkeying anymore!!

In this occasion, I would make a standing ovation to the two very important people

The two who have created me…

Also My very own sis, the most morally perfect girl, my sanity streak!!

The great friends I have made in this big voyage of eighteen years

The shoulders I have cried on

The fellow jokers

The serious ones

The neat ones

The less or somewhat equally clumsy ones

The great thinkers

And the brilliant brains

Every single one of you...Yes YOU…

A whole hearted thank you!

From my kindergarten teacher to my favorite “hariharan” (present college professor)

From my dear art teacher Mrs. Ghosh to my swimming instructor!

I thank every single one of you!!

Forgive me for every mistake I have made...every rude word i have uttered

every heart i have hurt

You mean a lot...and i mean it...
